The day after the 2022 primary election, when I learned that I had lost my race by 161 votes, I began my campaign to victory in 2024.
When your opponent is The Speaker of the House, with his name in the news every week, when every corporate interest group is throwing gobs of money into his campaign, with him spending the most any state house candidate has ever spent in Hawaii’s history, and the best he can do is win by less than 168 votes two primaries in a row – you realize this is NOT the time to give up?
It’s time to help even more neighbors and community partners get their voices heard and their solutions implemented. What an honor it has been working with mothers who want safer streets for our keiki, kupuna who are facing rising housing costs on their fixed retirement income, small business owners trying to become more sustainable, and advocates fighting to protect our planet, civil liberties, and fair wages.
Under the leadership of my opponent, legislators say there is no funding to replace pay-to-play politics with “clean elections,” no funding for a state-run family leave insurance program, and no funding for more effective ways to track the tonnage of toxic chemicals being sprayed across our open farmlands. Meanwhile, my opponent has introduced bills designed to shrink state revenue by giving even larger tax breaks to those who will inherit the most wealth.
This isn't just about winning a seat, it’s about taking a stand – taking a stand to repair our broken democracy that too often sells-out the people of Hawaii to the highest bidder.
Will you stand with me? You can show your support by:
Donating to my campaign: $10, $50 or $100 will help us get our message to voters in highrises throughout our district.
Amplifying our social media posts by commenting, liking, and sharing: Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok.
Sending us a personal endorsement statement sharing your thoughts on why you are supporting my candidacy and why this election is important to your Hawaii.
Volunteering your time: Whether it's knocking on doors, signwaving, making phone calls, or assisting with administrative tasks, your help is welcome and needed.
Share my campaign message with your networks, both in Hawai‘i and abroad, encouraging others to join our movement for positive change.
Together, we can continue to shake up the system, not just from the outside, but from the inside, where we will join forces with others and build the critical mass needed to create the change we want.
Together, we can bring greater transparency to the Hawaii House of Representatives and achieve more equitable and just outcomes.
Together we can help make our island home a better place, for everyone now and for generations to come.
Together, we can do better.
Sincerely,
